I woke up a bit hungry today, but having slept about 5 hours a night on average, during the last few nights, I decided to stay in bed for an extra 30 minutes. That was enough for the feeling of hunger to disappear, and as a result, I decided not to eat anything before heading out to the office.
Since it was a busy morning, I did not have time to think about food, and even missed my usual noon lunch time!
But eventually…
Meal #1 @ 12:45pm
I had a chia seed / banana / lucuma / maca porridge, which I prepared before I left for work. Since I promised myself yesterday that I would skip cacao, I did just that. Although that promise was broken later on in the day. But, that’s what happens when one makes silly promises
Chia porridge
This was an incredibly filling meal, and because of all the fiber in chia seeds, the sugar from bananas is slowly released over time, keeping you from getting hungry for a long time.
Meal #2 @ 7:30pm
Because of staying up late the last few nights I am pretty exhausted, so I decided to grab a very quick meal and head to bed shortly after 8:00pm, watch some TV, and if I’ll fall asleep that early, that’d be even better.
The pre-made store bought lasagna was just what I needed and it was as good as it usually is.
Raw lasagna
My snacks today were:
- 2 handfuls of goji berries
- 1 raw brownie – see day 20 of the raw food trial for the picture
- handful of raw almonds
- 2 kiwi fruit
- about 20 green grapes
Oh, and the scale showed 145 pounds this morning. That means I lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks without even trying. In fact I was eating things that someone wanting to lose weight would never attempt – like a quart of chocolate pudding for a meal
Yes, some of the weight lost was muscle mass, but the difference in my waist is very noticeable. I’ve also had enough energy throughout the last 4 weeks that I could have worked out every day, had I had the time or desire.
On to day 29…

Hey, great site! Thanks for sharing. I’ve also been experimenting with raw foods, and so far I love it. I confess that I haven’t gone COMPLETELY raw, but I’m up to about 80%. I figure I have to start somewhere… Anyway, keep up the good work!
