I was having some problems with my internet router tonight, so I spent an evening fiddling with my computers instead of thinking and writing about raw foods. I think I will stick mostly to the meal plan updates for the remainder of the 30 day raw food trial.
Unless I experience something new, that is. Like making almond milk that tastes good
Today I had…
Meal #1 @ 8:00am
For breakfast, I had a green smoothie similar to the one I had yesterday. But, since I was replacing the mild tasting romaine with mixed herb greens, I decided to use more bananas, and berries that are sweeter than strawberries.
- 4 medium collar leaves
- 3 oz of mixed herb greens
- 1 stalk of celery
- 3 bananas, 1 of them frozen
- 10 oz of raspberries, frozen
- 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
- 2.5 cups of water
Very raspberry not so green smoothie
The ingredients above yielded 56oz of green smoothie. I had 32oz immediately and put the rest in the fridge for later.
As expected, this drink was sweeter than my smoothie from yesterday morning, but not overly so.
Meal #2 @ 12:30pm
For lunch I had Sweet Southern BBQ – a store bought meal.

More info about this entree can be found on day 15 of my raw food trial.
I had the above with a side of red grapes, and followed it all up with 2 dates for dessert.
I needed some sugar, as I would be on conference calls most of the afternoon, so no snacking until after 5:30-ish.
Meal #3 @ 7:30pm
I wanted to finish up some store bought meals, before I go shopping tomorrow night. So, for dinner I had another one – and one I’ve never tried before.
It was called Sweet-ish Neatballs

Since it was a play on meatballs, I was considering making my raw zucchini pasta and marinara sauce, but I decided that would be way too much food. Especially, since I still had the remainder of my morning smoothie waiting for me in the refrigerator.
So, I had the smoothie, then followed it up with the Neatballs about half an hour later – for best digestion smoothies are best drank on a relatively empty stomach and not followed up with other food immediately.
The Neatballs were fantastic – not quite as perfect as the Bufallo Bites, which are made by the same company, but close… perhaps a dipping sauce of sorts would have made it on par with the other meal. As their name suggests, the Sweet-ish Neatballs were somewhat sweet. They were also quite spicy, which I really enjoyed.
Instead of listing the ingredients, I took the picture of the label – I am not sure why I did not think about that sooner!

After the Neatballs, I had 1 medjool date for dessert. As much as I loved the spicy meal, I wanted something very sweet and soothing afterwards.
Today I snacked on:
- 2 handfuls of goji berries
On to day 25…
