I ordered some raw almonds earlier in the week, hoping I’ll have the entire weekend to attempt making almond milk (and things related) again, but unfortunately the package has not yet shown up at my door.
So, instead I spent the day playing video games and reading – or rather listening to audiobooks.
As result, just a food diary for today:
Meal #1 @ 1:00pm
This must have been my latest “breakfast” yet, especially considering that last night we had the fall back change of time, and as far as my body is concerned, it’s already 2:00pm.
But, I was not hungry, and immersed in the final quests of Point Lookout, a Fallout 3 add-on, so I put the breakfast off until it was time to stop playing.
As I predicted last night, I made a smoothie for my first meal of the day – this one was the largest yet – 46oz, 32 of which I had immediately, and the rest went to the fridge for later.
The smoothie was made from:
- 2 huge collard leaves
- 5 medium romaine leaves
- 2 stalks of celery
- 3 bananas, frozen
- 10 oz of strawberries, frozen
- 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
- water, lots of it
There seemed to be enough greens in this smoothie to, at least as far as taste goes, mostly offset the sweetness of strawberries and bananas. It was a pleasant, but not exciting mix, with a bit of bitter taste.
Meal #2 @ 3:15pm
For no special reason at all, it felt like a time for a major treat. So, I made my Delicious chocolate pudding.
Delicious chocolate pudding
What other diet could you have a quart of chocolate pudding on, and not feel guilty about it?
You can find the recipe for this one on a blog post from another day – raw food trial day 11.
Meal #3 @ 9:00pm
I thought I would not get hungry tonight, but I did, so a light meal was in order.
An evening salad
This salad consisted of:
- 1 humongous cucumber
- 2 very ripe tomatoes
- 2oz of mixed herb greens
- 2 pinches of salt
This meal was excellent, since the mixed herb greens provide such a wide array of flavors. Sometimes I end up eating the entire 5oz of these greens straight out of the container while eating a cold sweet apple, like a red delicious that I usually keep in the fridge.
I followed the salad with the green smoothie left over from this morning. And I use the word morning very loosely here
In any case, after a few hours in the fridge, the smoothie was much sweeter and much better than its fresh version, with the taste of bananas being much more pronounced.
A lesson here – if a smoothie is too bitter, just leave it in a fridge for a while.
Today, I did not have any snacks.
One week to go! On to day 24…

Good for you! Twenty-three days down!
I’m not a fan of celery EVER but I did put some in a green smoothie last week. I think I’ll continue to leave it out or else only use a half-stalk instead of a whole one.
I’m off to check out that pudding recipe…
